Peter Sidell, Retail Director at KGA retires
-

November 2011 Peter Sidell, Retail Director at Kenneth Green Associates, will retire at the end of 2011 after a very successful and diverse career and most notably, 18 fragrant years with KGA.
Born in Norwich, Norfolk, Peter has always been a “canary”: a staunch supporter of Norwich City FC and proud of it. With a degree in Geography and Geology from Kings College London, one of his early ambitions was to work in Sports Management.
He began his career at the Steel Corporation on Teesside but subsequently moved to Mars Confectionery where he stayed for 10 years, leaving in 1978. From sweets, he moved to tobacco, when he took the role of National Account Manager for BAT in 1978, staying until 1980. After a few years in the whisky business working for Mackays and Bells, Peter moved to Charles of the Ritz, where he discovered the luxury world of cosmetics and fine fragrances and it was there that he met Kenneth Green.
Peter joined the newly founded Kenneth Green Associates in July 1993, as Area Sales Manager for Southern England and was quickly promoted to Sales Director the following year. He became Operations Director in 2000 and finally was made Retail Director in 2008.
Colleagues at KGA said of Peter: “Peter is kind, patient and extremely methodical. His knowledge of the industry is considerable and he has taught me a great deal” “Peter’s experience and gravitas has underpinned the sales department since the millennium, bridging the gap between “central buying” and “traditional” sales management” “He is a team player and a true gentleman, and is a credit to the Perfume industry: well respected, valued and appreciated by all”
Peter says of his time at KGA: “Kenneth took me away from the debauched world of cigarettes and whisky and gave me the opportunity to work in the luxury industry of fine fragrances for which I am eternally grateful. He is a man I have always respected, admired and looked up to. I have very much enjoyed working with him and all the KGA team over the past 18 years, so much so that I have tried to retire 3 times and not succeeded! “
Kenneth Green commented: “We will miss Peter very much here at KGA and in the industry as a whole, he is a valued colleague and a dear friend, we wish him a very well deserved peaceful retirement”.
Peter is married with 3 children and 4 grandchildren and is looking forward to spending more time with them in Berkshire. We wish him all the best.
