The 2013 Shortlist Grooming Awards took place on Wednesday 22nd May at London’s exclusive ME hotel.

The awards celebrate everything from fragrance, skincare innovations and gadgets for men, and KGA were delighted to pick up the award for Best Future Classic Fragrance for Voyage d’Hermes Parfum.

Perfume expert Roja Dove said of the fragrance “You sense the evoloution of this creation from the first moment you apply it, as it takes you on its voyage of olfactory discovery and development.”

This is the fifth year in a row that Hermes have been recognised in the Shortlist Grooming Awards - the brand is clearly a favourite with their readers!

A ‘lounge’ style party with a DJ in a central London art gallery was the setting for the press launch of Portrait, the new fragrances for men and women from Paul Smith.

Over 80 guests attended in the presence of Sir Paul Smith, fragrance nose Barnabe Fillion, and Kenneth Green

Guests included key beauty and grooming editors, publishers, freelancers, national press and prolific bloggers, and they enjoyed Champagne and canapés whilst using vintage Polaroid cameras to create an interactive pinboard.

A silhouette artist created personal portraits of the guests, and Paul, Barnabe & Kenneth gave a short presentation to introduce the fragrances, their creation process and the inspiration behind them.

Guests then discovered the Portrait fragrances for themselves, which achieved some fantastic feedback.

Portrait for Men is a woody spicy fragrance with top notes of Bergamot, Green Tea, Cardamom and Pink Pepper, a heart of Geranium and Cassie Flower, and base notes of Cedarwood, Tolu Balm, Myrrh and Cistus. 

Portrait for Women is a fresh, green, floral fragrance with top notes of Bergamot, Black Tea, Cardamom, Blackcurrant and Peach, a heart of Wild Rose and Jasmine, and a base of Myrrh and Musk.

The fragrances will be available nationwide from the 5th September.
